I am a candidate for Position 4 on the Nestucca Valley School Board. My career has been dedicated to children’s education. I have 39 years experience as a teacher and school administrator.
Before retirement, I was a Special Education teacher serving grades K-12 at NVSD. Two of my children graduated from Nestucca High School.
I am running for the school board because I want to see the district continue to build on its success. The renovated K-8 school is open and nurturing a Community of Learners. The Career and Technical Education building (and program) will prepare students for careers in the trades. I support Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math courses that help students learn Critical Thinking Skills. Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports that provide a safe and healthy learning environment are important. I want to contribute to the district’s mission to engender student success in school and beyond.
