The Seaside Aquarium ardently extended thanks to those of you who volunteered your time and energy into keeping Seaside Beach clean through our monthly beach cleanups sponsored by us (Seaside Aquarium), the City of Seaside, Seaside Downtown Development Association, Seaside Visitor’s Center, and SOLVE. Through this wonderful partnership, we had a total of 583 participants remove approximately 2,738 pounds of rubbish off the beach in 2022.
While we continue to thrive to be the best stewards we can for our marine environment, we are excited to announce two new partnerships, Seaside Brewing Company and Sisu Brewing. We are now using spent grain bags donated by both of our local breweries to collect beach trash, which further reduces the use of single use plastic bags.
The first beach cleanup of the 2023 season yielded 10 brave and hardy volunteers. They spent two hours in the cold and rain collecting trash. Monthly beach cleanups are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month. You can register for the beach cleanups at SOLVE (solveoregon.org) or simply show up the morning of the cleanup.
