September is Suicide Prevention and Action Month, and it’s a powerful reminder that we all have a vital role to play in supporting the well-being of our friends, family, and community members. This month, you are invited to join a special event designed to empower you with the tools to help others and care for yourself.
Join Tillamook Family Counseling Center on Wednesday, September 10th, at the Tillamook Main Library for a two-part event that is free and open to the public.
Part One: Learn to Help- 5:30-6:30pm: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training
This one-hour suicide prevention training will teach you how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how to confidently start a conversation that could save a life. You don’t need any prior background in mental health—this session is for anyone and everyone who wants to make a difference. No prior registration is required.
Part Two: Care for Yourself – 6:30-8:00pm: Self-Care and Crafts
After the training, you are welcome to stay for a safe space dedicated to learning more about the importance of self-care. Connect with others, socialize, and get crafty in a low-pressure environment.
