On September 12 and 13, Seven Capes Bird Alliance will offer bird walks on two less traveled trails that promise great scenery and beautiful late summer weather.
Friday, September 12, 9-11 a.m.
Cascade Head Interpretive Wayside: Cascade Head Interpretive Wayside, the start of a woodland road that’s part of the Salmon River Estuary Restoration Area. We’ll look for migrating warblers and other songbirds. Meet at the wayside on N. Fraser Rd. just north of Lincoln City off Hwy 101. Sponsored by Explore Lincoln City
Saturday, September 13, 10 a.m.*-Noon
Sitka Sedge State Natural Area: Sitka Sedge State Natural Area has a variety of coastal habitats that are teeming with wildlife. The trail winds through tidal flats, saltwater marshes, and forested wetlands to the ocean. We’ll look for songbirds and shorebirds. Meet in the parking area off Sandlake Rd.

All Seven Capes Bird Alliance outings are free, family-friendly, easy to moderately easy, and open to the public; no pre-registration or experience is required. Binoculars and guidebooks are provided. Outings are held rain or shine; dress appropriately for coastal weather and muddy trails. Be sure to carry water.
