TILLAMOOK ASSOCIATION FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (TAPA) ANNOUNCES CAST, PERFORMANCES FOR “THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME”, OPENS FEBRUARY 21st

Posted on January 26, 2025 by Editor

The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA), Cyndi Lewis and Rob Trost Real Estate are delighted to announce the cast of the upcoming production of THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME, written by Katherine DiSavino. The play takes place in the Chicago apartment of Olivia and Gabe. They have moved halfway across the country to start a new life together and their parents show up unexpectedly to help with the move in chores. Unfortunately, they are not in the best neighborhood according to Max and must deal with some unsavory characters and situations on the street several floors down.

Front row: Fred, Mackenzie, Valerie, Dennis Back row: Matt, Jeannie, Elianna

The cast for THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME is a mix of familiar TAPA faces and new members of the theater. Playing Olivia Keegan is Elianna Maciel in her first role on the TAPA stage. Olivia and her boyfriend Gabe, played by Matthew Bergkamp, are moving into their first apartment together. Audiences may remember Matthew from his stage appearances in the last few years. This will be Fred and Jeannie Foster’s fourth production with TAPA as they perform as Gabe’s parents Wyatt and Lydia. Olivia’s parents, Carter and Karen, are portrayed by Dennis Darling and Valerie Sewell, both newcomers to the Barn Community Playhouse. Rounding out the cast is Mackenzie Wingate who plays Max Mirowski, the building super. Mackenzie has been in several productions at the theater. Director Ann Harper is thrilled with the cast and believes audiences will have a good time watching this comedy.

THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME is directed by Ann Harper, produced by Robyn Eley, Bree Maciel will be stage manager, Rebecca Dougherty will work her magic with hair and makeup, and CarolAnn Sisco will be in the booth running the lights and sound.
