Tillamook County Clerk Christy Nyseth, today April 7, 2026 on the Tillamook County Community Update shared this statement: “I want to briefly address the proposed SAVE Act. This is federal legislation that has not been enacted, and there are no changes to voting or voter registration at this time.
My office will continue to operate under current Oregon law. If this legislation moves forward, we will evaluate its impact, including any staffing, budget, and operational considerations.
Oregon’s elections system remains secure, transparent, and well-established, and we are focused on preparing for the upcoming election.
For the May election, the voter registration deadline is April 28th. This is the last day to register or update your party affiliation. Ballots will be mailed on Wednesday, April 29th, and ballot drop boxes will open that same day.”
