TILLAMOOK COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE: Watch ballot counting in process – New Livestream available; Ballot Drop Box Locations

With five days before Election Day, voters are encouraged to utilize local ballot drop boxes (see locations below), and if you are mailing your ballot to be sure to get physical postmark on the ballot return envelope if they are waiting until election day to mail their ballot back.

The Tillamook County Clerk’s Office now has a YouTube Live Stream so you can watch the ballot counting process live – see link below.

Here are the latest returns in Tillamook County from the Tillamook County Clerk’s Office:

TOTAL ELIGIBLE VOTERS:  21,660
BALLOTS RECEIVED/ACCEPTED: 9,475 RECEIVED/9,342 ACCEPTED
% OF TURNOUT: 43.13%

Explanation of Camera Views:

ADJUDICATION BOARD(1):

The Adjudication board resolves ballot issues prior to ballots being run through the ballot tabulator. Adjudication includes:
Enhancement, Duplication and Marking out of unclear marks. You will see Board Workers using a red pen and/or black dauber with ink to enhance and duplicate ballots.
You will also see Board Workers using white out to remove ‘pin dots’ or strike through ovals.
TABULATOR ROOM (2):
In this room you will see either the Clerk or Chief Deputy and one staff member running the ballots through the Tabulator (DS850).
You will see the Enhancement, Duplication and Marking out of unclear marks on ballots in order for them to be read by the tabulator.
You will see the use of red pen and/or black dauber with ink to enhance and duplicate ballots.
You will also see the use of white out to remove ‘pin dots’ or strike through ovals.
OFFICE OF THE CLERK (3):
You will see Christy working in this office. Ballot related activity is signature verification and resolving ballot issues.
CLERK STAFF WORK AREA (4):
You will see Staff working in this area. Ballot related activity is signature verification and resolving ballot issues.
FRONT COUNTER VIEW 1 & 2 (5):
You will see Clerk staff working in this area. Ballot related activity is issuing ballots and resolving ballot issues.
OPENING BOARD (6):
The opening board removes the ballot from the return envelope. They ensure each envelope has a ballot enclosed. If not, they will notify the Clerk or Chief Deputy.
They verify the ballots being removed from the envelopes are for the correct precinct.
The ballots are flattened and then placed in the appropriate precinct box.
They will box up the ballot return envelopes after each precinct is completed.

OFFICIAL TILLAMOOK COUNTY BALLOT DEPOSIT LOCATIONS
November 5, 2024 General Election
Below you will find the drop site locations and the available days and hours, the sites will be open for you to drop off voted ballots. You have the choice of mailing your ballot or returning it to any designated drop site in the state. The voted ballot must be received in any county election office or designated drop site by 8:00 p.m. on election night or postmarked by 11/5/2024. Your ballot must be received inside the ballot return envelope with your signature on the outside.
Each ballot is inspected carefully and signatures are compared to the voter registration card on record.
