Tillamook County Joins National John Lewis Day of Action – “Good Trouble Lives On” in Tillamook & Nehalem on July 17th

Posted on July 14, 2025 by Editor

On Thursday, July 17, community members in Tillamook County will join Americans at thousands of events nationwide to honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis and fight back against the growing attacks on our civil and human rights.

The local action in Tillamook County is part of Good Trouble Lives On — a nationwide day of peaceful, nonviolent action rooted in the legacy of the civil rights movement and inspired by John Lewis’ call to make “good trouble, necessary trouble.”

Participants will gather to demand an end to the authoritarian attacks on our freedom to vote, protest, and organize — and to stand united against efforts to criminalize our communities, roll back our rights, and slash vital public programs.

Local organizers invite community members to attend, join and uplift the voices of those taking peaceful action in defense of democracy.

In Tillamook, Indivisible Tillamook Coast are again gathering nonperishable food for the local food bank. Join us in Tillamook or Nehalem, July 17th from 4 to 6 pm – Good Trouble Lives On.

WHO: Local grass roots organizations Indivisible Tillamook Coast Action and North County Resistance are participating in this day of action.

WHAT: The event will be rallies along the streets in Tillamook and Nehalem that are part of the National Good Trouble Lives On Day of Action honoring John Lewis, protesting government over-reach, and protecting the U.S. Constitution.

WHEN: Thursday, July 17, 2025 – 4:00  – 6:00 PM

WHERE: Sue Elmore Park in Tillamook

7th street and HWY 101 in Nehalem, Oregon
