The Tillamook County Library is excited to announce the launch of a brand-new website, on October 1st at www.tillabook.org. The new website represents a major step forward in usability for community members. Built on a modern platform, it offers a seamless experience between the library catalog and the website, making it easier than ever for patrons to search for and discover library materials, electronic resources, library programs and all the services the library provides.
“The new website gives us the ability to highlight our collections in fresh ways, with features like embedded collection spotlights, librarian lists and browsing categories,” said Danielle Meininger, Systems Librarian. “It also improves compatibility with screen readers and supports enhanced accessibility features, ensuring that every member of our community can explore and enjoy our resources.”
All the content from the previous website has been transferred to the new platform, so patrons will continue to find the same information on programs, services, and resources.
The redesign was prompted by the retirement of the library’s old web platform, offering an opportunity to make significant improvements that benefit patrons in a cleaner more modern format on a platform the library already uses at no additional cost.
Among the highlights of the new website are a unified search and catalog experience, a mobile-friendly design that works seamlessly across phones, tablets, and desktops, improved navigation that makes it easier to find events and resources, and visually engaging displays that showcase the library’s collections in new ways.
The library is also beginning work on a brand-new mobile app coming later this winter, which will further expand digital access to library services. With the app, patrons will be able to search the catalog, place holds, and access digital resources directly from their smartphones. Stay tuned for announcements about the library app later this year.
“We want our community to feel confident that their library is keeping pace with modern technology while still preserving the welcoming spirit of our services,” said Meininger. “This new website is just the beginning of a more connected and accessible library experience.”
