Join Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS and the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum on Saturday, March 21 from 2-3 pm for a special presentation celebrating the people and history of the Oregon Coast with local author and historian John Andersen.
John will share stories from his newly released book, “The Amazing People Between the Capes – A History about the People of Cape Meares, Netarts, and Oceanside, Oregon,” and foster a greater knowledge of the area’s diverse history.
With over two decades of work in community development and environmental education in the area, John brings a personal and deeply informed perspective to the stories that define life between Cape Lookout and Cape Meares.
“We are so excited to work with the Pioneer Museum to host John for this special event. John is a beloved former board member and our go-to historian,” said Netarts WEBS Director Chrissy Smith said. “He has been working toward this goal for many years, and we are happy to help him share this with the community.”
Whether you’re a longtime local, a new resident, or simply interested in coastal Oregon history, this event is a chance to connect with the rich heritage and remarkable individuals who have called this region home.
There will be a book signing after the talk. John’s book can be purchased at the event for $25; cash or card accepted. This is a free event, but registration is required at: netartsbaywebs.org/events. The event will be hosted at the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum.
