Like many businesses, restrictions of the past year have affected some services and procedures at TCSO. One of these was the usually quick and efficient processing of Concealed Handgun Licenses (CHL) applications, and transfers.
TCSO is now able to start processing CHL in a more normal fashion and are taking steps to help reduce the backlog that occurred due to the pandemic.
“On Monday I emailed all of the people that were caught up in the backlog to schedule appointments to get them processed,” said TCSO Civil Program Manager Jana Prock. “I am scheduling appointments for this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and so far we only have about 15 scheduled. We have lots of openings right now.”
Prock is encouraging anyone that has already submitted an application for a CHL, including new applicants and transfers, to give her a call to schedule an appointment.
“When they call, I will let them know what documents they need to bring and what to expect out of the process.”
