It’s Tillamook County Fair time—and that means food, fun, rides… and crowds.
The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office is here to help keep your little ones safe while you enjoy everything the fair has to offer.
When you arrive, stop by any entry gate or the Sheriff’s booth and grab a bright yellow child safety bracelet.
Parents, this part is important: write your cell phone number clearly on the back of the bracelet. Then secure it on your child’s wrist. If they get separated from you, a deputy can contact you directly and get your child back into your arms quickly.
Next, visit our fun “Wanted Child” photo banner, located at the Sheriff’s Office Booth.
Snap a picture of your child in front of the banner—it’s not just cute, it’s smart. That photo gives our deputies a real-time image showing what your child looks like today—clothes, hairstyle, even height—so if something happens, we know exactly who we’re looking for.
“Every parent’s worst fear is losing track of their child in a crowd,” said Undersheriff Matt Kelly. “But with a phone number and a current photo, we can work fast and reunite families.”
While you’re at it, point out the Sheriff’s booth to your kids and let them know it’s the official meeting spot if they ever get lost. We will have goodies and stickers for the kids who stop by and say hello!
Both the bracelets and the photo stations are totally free—just part of how we’re working to keep this community safe and connected.
