Dear Nestucca Valley Community,
It has been an honor and privilege to serve as an educator in the Nestucca Valley School District for the past 24 years. Throughout my time here, I have witnessed the deep care, commitment and dedication of our educators — professionals who work tirelessly to meet the needs of our students and families wiht thoughtfulness and compassion.
We have truly amazing students. They are bright, capable, and full of potential. Our educators and students deserve to be championed and supported by the entire community. I believe wholeheartedly in this community’s ability to put kids first — I have sen it in action time and again.
To our students: You have a voice. Use it. Lead with kindness, and never underestimate the power you hold to shape a better future.
I am deeply grateful for the support I’ve received from the community, staff, and students throughout my tenure in the Nestucca Valley School District. Your encouragement and collaboration have been truly meaningful.
Last night at the board meeting, I officially submitted my resignation as Superintendent of the district. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes with a profound sense of appreciation for the years I’ve spent serving this incredible community.
The 2025-2026 school year is just around the corner. I wish our educators and students an amazing start to the year — one filled with growth, learning, and joy.
Take care,
Misty L. Wharton
