Tillamook County Teacher, Farmer Max Sherman Runs for Oregon State Representative, District 32

Posted on November 2, 2025 by Editor

After 35 years of teaching Agriculture, Welding, and Biology in Oregon’s public schools, I’ve decided it’s time to serve our community in a new way. I’m officially running for State Representative for House District 32.
People across the North Coast are frustrated — and I share that frustration.
People are tired of being sold out. When our representative voted for massive tax increases and then switched parties, it broke the trust that holds our communities together. I’m running to give this district honest, dependable leadership — someone who remembers who they’re working for.
Lynda and I love Oregon. We’ve raised our family here, farmed here, and spent our lives teaching and helping others. I believe it’s time to restore honesty, accountability, and common sense to Salem.

ABOUT MAX…
Max Sherman has dedicated his life to education, agriculture, and community service. For 35 years, he taught Agriculture, Welding, and Biology at Tillamook and Canby High Schools, mentoring hundreds of students into successful technical and agricultural careers. His students earned over 75 State FFA Degrees, more than 10 American Degrees, and over $300,000 in scholarships under his leadership. A National Finalist for the FFA Agri-Science Teacher of the Year and Tillamook County’s Educator of the Year, Max built nationally recognized programs that connected Oregon students with peers in Namibia, Cameroon, Rwanda, Swaziland, and Kenya.

Beyond the classroom, Max has been deeply involved in service and leadership. He’s served on the Oregon FFA Board of Directors, as a legislative representative for Oregon’s vocational agriculture teachers, and as a Tillamook Farm Bureau delegate and legislative affairs representative. Max and his wife Lynda — also an educator — have been married for 47 years. Together, they continue to serve their community through teaching, farming, and providing food for local families in need. Guided by faith, integrity, and hard work, Max is committed to restoring trust and common sense to Oregon’s leadership.
