Tillamook attorney Matt Lyon has announced his candidacy for Tillamook County Circuit Court Judge. Lyon brings nearly two decades of legal experience and a deep commitment to fairness, integrity, and service to the Tillamook County community.
A licensed Oregon attorney since 2005, Lyon has practiced extensively in criminal law, family law, and civil litigation; areas that make up a significant portion of the circuit court’s docket. His career includes experience in private practice as well as service as a judicial clerk, providing him with firsthand knowledge of courtroom proceedings from multiple perspectives.
“I am running to ensure that our local court continues to be a place where everyone is treated with respect, where the law is applied fairly and consistently, and where decisions are made thoughtfully and impartially,” Lyon said. “My goal is to serve the people of Tillamook County with professionalism and integrity.”
Lyon is a native Oregonian. He graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law and earned his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University. For the past decade, Lyon has lived in and practiced almost exclusively in Tillamook County.
Running on the campaign theme “Experienced, Fair, Local,” Lyon emphasizes his broad legal background, commitment to impartial decision-making, and strong connection to the community he seeks to serve.
