A Vote for Tina is a Vote for Oregon

Posted on October 5, 2026 by Ruth LaFrance

Tina Kotek has my vote for Governor. Tina Kotek’s governance always centers around the best interests of the people. Three reasons to vote for Tina Kotek:

*Tina Kotek signed the POWER ACT to make sure data centers pay their fair share of energy costs instead of residential customers footing the bill. Her opponent, Christine Drazan, opposed the POWER ACT. She voted to let data centers pass their energy costs on to families and businesses.

*Tina Kotek signed into law HB 2010, legislation aimed at securing funding to improve access to healthcare and keep rural hospitals and maternity centers open. HB 2010 was introduced at the request of Governor Kotek. Many insurers that pay the tax have endorsed extending it. The bill will raise billions in federal dollars over the next six years for Oregon’s Medicaid program and allocate a substantial portion back to hospitals. Medicaid in Oregon now covers roughly one-third of Oregonians and more than half of the children in the state. Governor Kotek’s opponent, Christine Drazan, voted against the bill.

*Tina Kotek supports Oregon’s 25 year old system of Vote-by-Mail. Governor Kotek: “Vote-by-mail is what Oregonians have come to know and rely on, and that’s why protecting our elections isn’t about one political party or another. We are all better off when everyone can participate in our elections without disruption, confusion, or threat. We stand united in that belief.” Governor Kotek’s opponent, Christine Drazan, introduced a 2025 bill, HB 3872, that would have overturned the state’s vote-by-mail system in favor of in-person voting.

Governors have little control over gas prices, interest rates, or grocery prices. Those are affected by federal policies. State issues, however, can be greatly influenced by the Governor. On issues such as broad-band infrastructure, housing, water, sewer, and road infrastructure in small communities, wildfire prevention and suppression, and drought relief, Governor Kotek has the back of Oregonians across the state.

I want a governor who fights to protect Oregon and Oregonians. My vote is for Tina Kotek.

Voting for Tina Kotek,
Ruth LaFrance
