“The Greatest Sentence Ever Written” by Walter Isaacson. The sentence is, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” In April, Pastor Tim Mayne spoke at the Indivisible Tillamook Coast Action meeting (see below for a link to the transcript and video) and told us about this book, which he is currently reading. As we approach the 250th year of this “great experiment,” we are at a crossroads. These “unalienable rights” are being decimated by MAGA, who are systematically dismantling everything the founders fought and died for. I have heard many people say that our votes don’t count, but they do. Nowhere are they more important than these mid-term elections, which can be won by as little as one vote. Yet they are often ignored, at a great cost to our community.
Elections have consequences and now, more than ever, YOUR VOTE MATTERS! We need to show up. Everyone who has been to a rally (or several) or written letters to the editor, or signed petitions, or boycotted, or volunteered as part of ITCA is making it possible for our votes to count. The MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do right now is to vote, and talk to every sane person you know and encourage them to vote as well. Indivisible is committed to working on a local level to protect and preserve our civic institutions and uphold human rights and dignity. It starts at home. VOTE!
Here’s some adivce about dropping off your ballot – it is highly recommended that you drop your ballot in a county drop box located through out the county – here’s a link to the list of locations –
If you are going to mail your ballot, due so by TOMORROW May 8th or make sure to have the ballot hand-stamped by a clerk.

Received = total number of ballots cast.
Accepted = total number of ballots without challenges. A challenged (unaccepted) ballot is one where the signature does not match the Voter record OR a voter did not sign the ballot return envelope.
