We are blessed with a New Moon in Cancer today July 17th at 11:23am PDT. This Moon has a lot going on with it so if you feel confused and not sure how to take it, that’s ok. You’re not gonna think your way through this one, you gotta FEEL your way through it.
It seems the Moon, while in Cancer, is so present while in her home sign. She is content here. Cancer represents home, the great mother or divine feminine. It is watery, emotional, sensitive and sweet. And like anything that is sweet and vulnerable, it also has to have a hard shell to protect it and retreat into. But this New Moon, which is going to be amplified by many aspects, is not the time to hide, it is the time to feel. Life is richer because of what we experience, whether it’s passion, love, joy, or sadness and fear.
Yes, fear is also a part of cautious Cancer, fear can give us a reality check that reminds us where we want to be in this great big beautiful world, but don’t let it freeze you in your tracks during this feel the feels Moon. Let it invite you to change how you feel about your emotions. We hear the call and when we are no longer led by fear, we find the amazing.
Uranus, Pluto and Neptune are all active under this dark Moon so it is an opportunity for unexpected changes (Uranus) powerful dreams and creativity (Neptune) and old stuff rising up from the dead to be processed (Pluto).
An added bonus to this New Moon is that Nodes of the Moon are changing signs EXACTLY on the New Moon! (This happens every 18 months) This is very delightful for allowing fresh energy to float in with this Moon. Breathe….let go….open up.
We don’t have all the answers right now and it won’t all make sense, but that’s okay—it doesn’t need to. Right now all we need to do is trust that whatever we’re feeling is valid and that, more than anything, the only way to understand it is to surrender to it. So this could be called the Tao of the Moon. It’s about taking the time to listen to our heart’s desires and just allow its voice to be heard without having to spring into action.
