ASTROLOGY: New Moon in Virgo

Posted on September 6, 2021 by Editor

By Madame Dana Zia
The New Moon in Virgo swirls softly in to soothe our wounds, today, Monday September 6th at 5:45 pm PDT after a rough and tumble week. This is much needed medicine to us all.
Last week had two very intense aspects that toppled us and the Earth about, like rocks in a rock tumbler. Neptune, the planet of higher awakening and dreams, opposed Mars all week that made many of us feel we were running down a tunnel that spooled out in front of us with no end in sight like a nightmare. Flooding that swamped the NE summer is also a side effect of this aspect.
Then we had the very intense aspect of Pluto, the Lord of secrets and the underworld square (a dynamic and demanding aspect) Venus, our inner feminine and bringer of beauty and love to our lives. The macrocosm of this one was the horrid disregard of women’s hard won rights by the seriously messed up State of Texas. The microcosm of this could have showed up in your personal life with feeling of your inner Goddess being attacked and/or violated in some way.

But our dear sweet New Moon in Virgo is a CBD balm for these maladies. Virgo is the only sign in the Zodiac that is represented by a Goddess. She holds a sheath of wheat in one hand and a scepter of healing/harvesting in the other. She is the Mother Goddess of the Universe, She is whole unto herself. She is Mother Nature who brought forth all of life, all order and structure. The Goddess is a virgin under the original meaning that She gave birth to all existence by Herself, from within Herself, out of Herself.

We are experiencing the great and awe-inspiring force of Mother Nature right now as our Earth seems to be rebelling against all the exploitation of her body. She is expressing her displeasure — fires are burning, hurricanes and intense storms are lashing out and a tiny little virus that will not be quelled, no matter how much we blame each other. She is doing this to heal Herself and ultimately us. We are all tied together, we must thrive together or die together and She is making sure we remember this.
The good news is that in all these rumbles and tumbles the New Moon brings with it hope, dynamic change and possibility. It is trine (harmonic energy) Uranus that is calling for us to seek adventure, try new things, and have an open mind. It is also opposed (dynamic polarization) with the asteroid Pallas Athena, who is an armor clad warrior Goddess in mythology. Pallas is the Goddess of strategy, controlled strength, competitive, skilled, and highly intelligent. She is working together with Uranus and the Moon in Virgo to bring strength, strategy and productive change to Earthlings.
I invite you to spend some time in the next few days to sit on the Earth and imagine this fresh and powerful lunar energy cleansing you from head to toe. Let this New Moon refresh you, heal you and beckon you towards new ideas and possibilities. Let the negative battering of the week fall away into the Earth and be composted for flowers to bloom in later. Open your mind and your heart and be guided by the Lunar Goddess with her outstretched hand. Who knows what it might bring if we truly open to it!
