July 11, 2018, Garibaldi, Oregon – It was just last month that the newly painted rail cars of the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad were unveiled to the public. The application of the deep blue cobalt background with gold lettering represented hundreds of hours of volunteer time to complete.
However, during the night of July 10, vandals painted graffiti on one of the newly painted cars as well as other rail cars.
The railroad is now researching what can be done to remove the graffiti given the special type of paint required for use on the railcars.
If the public has any information, please contact the Tillamook County Sheriff’s office at (503) 842-2561.
