Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with Art, Culture, and Community at Bay City Arts Center Nov. 6 & 7

Posted on October 22, 2026October 22, 2026 by Allyson Taylor

Bay City Arts Center (BCAC), Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS, and the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum invite the community to celebrate Native American Heritage Month with two days of art, cultural exchange, and learning on November 6–7, 2026. The events include a Native American artists gallery opening featuring three Indigenous artists, a marketplace highlighting Indigenous artists and businesses, and a storytelling program exploring traditional ecological knowledge and the lifeways of the Tillamook people. All events are free to attend, with advance registration required for the storytelling program.

Native American Artists Gallery Opening Reception
Friday, November 6 | 5–7 p.m.
Bay City Arts Center, Bay City

The public is invited to a First Friday gallery opening celebrating the work of Indigenous artists Kitana Connelly, Leonard Harmon, and Amanda Freeman. Their work will be on display throughout November, offering visitors an opportunity to experience Indigenous creativity, perspectives, and cultural expression.

Native American Marketplace
Saturday, November 7 | 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Bay City Arts Center, Bay City

Meet Indigenous artists, makers, and producers and explore handmade art, beadwork, traditional crafts, and other goods from Native American-owned businesses. The marketplace offers an opportunity to support Indigenous makers while learning about the people and traditions behind their work.

Traditional Ecological Knowledge on the Oregon Coast
Saturday, November 7 | 1–3 p.m.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED: netartsbaywebs.org/events

Presented with Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS and Tillamook County Pioneer Museum, this program features Stephanie Craig and Molly Leno, Co-Directors of Rooted Ways in a conversation about traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) as a living system of care, reciprocity, and stewardship. Advance registration is required.

Together, these events create opportunities to celebrate Indigenous artists, learn from cultural knowledge holders, and deepen connections to the people, traditions, and lands of the Oregon Coast.

Bay City Arts Center, Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS, and the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum are pleased to collaborate on these community events. All are welcome.

Admission: Free for all events. Registration is required only for the traditional ecological knowledge program on November 7th.
