(April 13, 2026) – The City of Tillamook announces that an emergency sewer repair was completed over the weekend. On Friday night, April 10, staff identified a blockage in the sewer mainline on 1st Street between Main Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. Further investigation revealed two collapsed
sections of pipe, caused by rock and debris fully blocking the line and requiring immediate repair.
Crews responded quickly, closing 1st Street from Main Avenue to Stillwell Avenue, including the turn lane onto 1st Street at Main. Ivy Street was also closed at 2nd and Front Streets.
Traffic was impacted until mid-afternoon on Saturday, April 11th when repairs were completed and the road was reopened. No sewer service disruptions were reported.
Crews worked through the night and into the weekend to get things back up and running as quickly as possible. We appreciate those who respond to these calls and keep our system flowing—often at all hours.
On Saturday morning, the City Manager visited nearby businesses to share information about the emergency repair and apologize for the inconvenience caused by the closures.
The City of Tillamook thanks the community for its patience and understanding.
