CANDIDATE’S STATEMENT:
I have a lifelong dedication to children’s education. My children and grandchildren have attended district schools, and my great-grandchildren are continuing this tradition at the pre-school. I have a BA in elementary education and taught K-8. Jerry Boisa, my late husband, served as the transportation coordinator at NVSD.
I have a proven track record on the NVSD board. I understand the needs of students, teachers and staff, and families. I have volunteered on committees, at school dances and coaching sports. Interacting with students and their families, supporting involvement and listening to parent and community input is, I believe, crucial for a well-functioning board and school district.
The Nestucca Valley School District is on a positive trajectory, and I will put my shoulder to the wheel to help it keep moving forward. NVSD projects in the works include a Community Health Center, Career Technical Education building and programs, and Tillamook Sheriff Dept. Substation. These programs will engage South Tillamook County. They will enhance learning opportunities and well-being so that our students are well prepared for successful futures.
There is more to be done and I am willing and able to help make NVSD’s vision a reality.
