EMERGENCY VOLUNTEER CORPS OF NEHALEM BAY: Ham Radio Class Scheduled for Feb. 16-17

Posted on February 5, 2024 by Editor

EVCNB is offering a Ham Radio Technician class over two sessions on Friday, February 16 from 6:30pm-8:30pm and Saturday, February 17 from 8:30am-4:30pm. The classes
will take place online via Zoom using a fast-paced “cram” style format. Anyone interested in learning about or becoming licensed as a Ham Radio technician is invited to attend. There is no charge for the Zoom sessions.
The FCC license exam session is also online and is scheduled individually after the EVCNB class. There is no charge for the Zoom class sessions, however, there is a $15 fee for the exam and a $35 fee to the FCC. You will receive details about the FCC requirements during the class. The success rate for the FCC exam is over 90%.
To increase the likelihood of your success, 6 to 10 hours of pre-class study is recommended. This entails watching YouTube videos and some background reading.
There is also an optional companion study guide book. Once registered you’ll get an email with the suggested online links and study material.

Sign up for the EVCNB Ham Radio class at: https://forms.gle/LgjJD88kFGv5etsX9
If you have questions about the Ham Radio class or exam, please email: k7ty@arrl.net.
