Fulcrum Community Resources North County Business Relief – Work is not done …

Posted on December 6, 2020 by Editor

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

2020 has been a long road for the small businesses, their employees, and self-employed people in Manzanita, Nehalem and Wheeler. They have weathered shut-downs, reduced hours, and invested time and money into making their businesses safe for customers and staff.

Fulcrum Community Resources and the Manzanita Visitors Center established the North County Business Relief Fund this past spring and, thanks to an outpouring of generosity, raised and distributed over $90,000 to help our small businesses endure these past several months. The Business Relief Committee, which includes Fulcrum board members and two community members, decided that it was important to get money into the hands of our local struggling businesses as quickly as possible and continues to distribute funds as they are received.

Our work is not done. Businesses in our community are still in need of assistance, now more than ever. As winter sets in, our local small businesses are faced with the ever-looming presence of Covid-19 during what is already a very slow time of year.  Further state-ordered shut downs to combat the virus remain a possibility, making the future of many of our beloved small businesses uncertain.

We are asking for your help this holiday season as we seek to offer further support to our small businesses of North County.  Your support can make an immediate difference as we move into 2021. As one recipient wrote: “The money did so much more than buy supplies. It gave me hope that I could feed my family and have a roof over my head. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for having a program for us little guys who are living simply here in our beautiful community and trying to stay afloat.”

Donations to Fulcrum’s Business Relief are, of course, tax deductible. and can be made in one of four ways:
• PayPal – http://exploremanzanita.com/donate/
• Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/FulcrumCommunity-Resources
• Mail a check to Fulcrum Community Resources, P.O. Box 136, Nehalem Oregon 97131 with “North County Business Relief” in the memo.
• Deposit directly to Fulcrum Community Resources’ account at Columbia Bank in Manzanita.

From the bottoms of our hearts, Fulcrum and the Business Relief Committee thank everyone who has donated to maintain the vitality of our community. www.fulcrumresources.org
