GORDON’S WEEKLY WEATHER UPDATE 5/11/26: Looking like some showers into midweek, then another weak shot of rain toward the weekend

Posted on May 11, 2026 by Editor

By Gordon McCraw, Meteorologist for the Tillamook County Pioneer

We saw a fair and mild weekend, aside from the morning marine clouds. Today the high pressure ridge continued to build over the area, which warmed us up into the low 70s today, and will bring us a partly cloudy night with calm winds, and a low temperature of 54 degrees.

Tomorrow, Tuesday looks to be another fair, dry, and warm day with the afternoon temperatures returning to or just above 70. Then the ridge gets pushed to the east by an incoming trough of low pressure Tuesday night, which brings increasing cloudiness with a chance of some showers after around midnight.

The trough continues to track eastward Wednesday, so we see a decreasing chance of showers Wednesday morning under partly sunny skies, the winds westerly 5-10, Wednesday’s afternoon temperature only around 63. We see a weak ridge building in Wednesday night, bringing us some mostly cloudy skies, the overnight low near 49.

Thursday is looking nice but cooler, some mostly sunny skies with the high near 61, then it looks like we see another trough of low pressure moving towards the area from the northwest Thursday night which brings us a slight chance of rain after midnight, the low near 48.

We keep the chance of rain Friday and Saturday with mostly cloudy skies, the afternoon high only near 59, the overnight lows near 45. It does look like a ridge of high pressure starts to build back in by Saturday night which starts to dry things out, with Sunday looking partly sunny and 62.
