Gray Whale Washes Up on Beach Near Sandlake

Posted on April 18, 2020 by Editor

The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office reports today April 18th that the camp host at Sandlake Recreation Area discovered that a 40 foot male grey whale washed up on Sandlake overnight. Biologists from Oregon State University are doing an autopsy this afternoon.

We at the Sheriff’s Office do not recommend they use dynamite this time to dispose of it. It didn’t go well last time. See attached YouTube news footage.
