Great Opportunities to Give Back – SOLVE Beach Cleanup Sat. Sept. 21st & Cape Lookout Stewardship Day Sun. Sept. 22

This is a friendly reminder:  If you have been looking for a chance to give back and make a difference, here are two great opportunities. Join Friends of Netarts Bay for the SOLVE Beach Cleanup and the Cape Lookout Stewardship Day!

We can never have enough hands when it comes to cleaning up our beaches.

Join SOLVE, Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS , Oceanside Surf Co./Current Cafe, Netarts Oceanside Fire, and other Tillamook County partners to clean up the areas around Netarts and Oceanside on Saturday, September 21st, from 10 AM – 1 PM. Join them this year and help protect marine life and maintain the beauty of our coast. This beach cleanup is family-friendly, dog-friendly, and volunteers of all ages will find the event fun and rewarding.

For those who love and appreciate the captivating beauty of Cape Lookout State Park:

Please join us for another day of stewardship at the park. Cape Lookout Stewardship Day is, September 22nd, 1:00 to 3:30:  This is a great opportunity to give back and work to maintain our natural areas and restore healthy coastal landscapes.

Projects vary and may include:

  • Invasive plant removal

  • Native plant seed collection

  • Restoration planting events

  • Beach access improvements

  • Trail maintenance

  • Plant and wildlife mapping

Activities are designed to accommodate a variety of skill levels. Families are welcome. The specific projects are shared closer to the date of the event.

WEBS and partners are hosting this event as part of the Explore Nature series of hikes, walks, paddles and outdoor adventures. Led by a consortium of volunteer community and non-profit organizations, these meaningful nature-based experiences highlight the unique beauty of Tillamook County and the work being done to preserve and conserve the area’s natural resources and natural resource-based economy.
