At the June Council Meeting Bill Hassell was chosen as Grand Marshal for the City of Rockaway Beach’s 4th of July parade.
Bill is one of those people who quietly leads. He has had, and currently does have his hand in many projects.
He is Chairman of the Planning Commission. Bill also active in preserving our Watershed. His enthusiasm for the Lake Lytle Recreation Project is contagious. Bill is an active member of the Emergency Communication (yellow radios), part of the Emergency Preparedness Corp in Rockaway Beach.
Bill is one of the Pioneer’s “go-to guys” for drone photos, videos and tech support for events. His videos and images provie great historical coverage of Rockaway Beach;and he has a great eye that captures so much of the beauty that surround us.
Bill’s knowledge of our community is vast. His love for Rockaway Beach is evident by all that he does. The Big Cedar Boardwalk is a testament to that. He loves that walk to the Big Cedar. I have made that walk with him a few times. I highly recommend hitting him up to give you a narrated walk to the Big Cedar, it is very educational. However, be warned, he is a fast walker. You can’t be scared to tell him to slow down! Bill’s on the move throughout our community.
