Farming is hard, people. This is the season of bounty, but it’s always a risk. Sadly, Pearl Point Oyster Farm has pulled out of the market for the season due to unexpected mortality in their oyster beds. Cranberry Kitchen has been less present than usual due to a failure in the cherry crop, putting a dent in supply of their most popular products. All of our farmers and their staff are working through thick and thin to take advantage of this brief season of production. It takes a lot of work and navigating uncertainty to show up consistently with a full booth, and we appreciate them! Make sure you take advantage of the fruits of their hard work while it’s here!
What a band last week! Baz Moto was super fun and had the whole market dancing. They are a hard act to follow, but I’m going to try. Your intrepid market manager (that’s me, Carolina) will be on stage this week, trying my hardest to give you a full band sound with just two arms, two legs, and a soulful voice. I bring a one-woman band to the Manzanita stage, playing guitar and accompanying myself on the drums while I sing my little heart out with a “voice like sweet bourbon”. I cover pop, soul, rock, and americana over the decades, with unique original songs mixed in with familiar favorites in ways you’ve never heard.
