Vacasa, North America’s leading vacation rental management platform, announced a deal this week with Sunset Vacation Rentals in Manzanita, Oregon, to onboard and care for the company’s portfolio of vacation homes. The transaction will increase Vacasa’s local team and inventory in popular coastal destinations, and provide Vacasa guests with even more stunning vacation homes to book.
Vacasa will offer employment to Sunset Vacation Rentals’ entire staff, which is composed of operations team members and guest service agents, and retain the local office located at 186 Laneda Avenue. Additionally, the owner of Sunset Vacation Rentals, Amy VanDyke, will stay on with Vacasa to help facilitate the smooth transition of homeowners, employees and guest reservations.
Amy VanDyke, owner of Sunset Vacation Rentals said, “I’ve spent the past 15 years helping to build Sunset Vacation Rentals into the company and pillar of the local community that it is today.” She continued, “As I move into a new chapter in life, I trust that Vacasa will ensure the continued success of the business for Sunset Vacation Rentals employees, homeowners and guests. I have always considered my employees to be family, and many of our staff have been with us for more than a decade, so Vacasa’s ability to offer them a path forward to grow in their careers is invaluable to me as an owner. I look forward to being a part of this transition, as well as continuing to serve on the local committees that support fair short-term rental regulation.”
VanDyke joined Sunset Vacation Rentals in 2007 and, alongside the company’s founder, expanded the business to provide full service vacation rental management to homeowners in Manzanita, NeahKahNie and Rockaway Beach. She is an active member in the community and sits on two boards that support fair legislation of short-term rentals in Manzanita and Tillamook County.
“Vacasa put down its roots on the Oregon Coast and has strived to provide superior service to homeowners and guests that visit the area for its unique landscape, family friendly nature and, of course, memorable vacation homes,” said Zac Monahan, Vice President of Corporate Development at Vacasa. He continued, “The successful operation that Amy has built is attractive to any partner, and we are honored that she selected Vacasa to continue the exceptional service she has provided over the years. It is because of our shared dedication to service that we know this will be a rewarding venture for both parties, and we’re excited to expand Vacasa’s investment in and commitment to these communities.”
Sunset Vacation Rentals homes will be available to book on vacasa.com later this summer.
