For decades, Tillamook County residents and Veterans have gathered on Memorial Day at Sunset Heights Memorial Park in Tillamook or at Nehalem American Legion Cemetery off Necarney Road, to honor those who paid the ultimate price for the sake of America and our precious liberty. Event organizers determined that the events could go on, adhering to physical distancing and recommending that folks honor our veterans by staying home and viewing the events online.
A Facebook page, Tillamook County Memorial Day, has been established for the Livestream that will commence at 11 am on Memorial Day, May 25th. Both events will be held at 11 am, and live-streamed on the Tillamook County Memorial Day page and a Watch Party will be established on the Tillamook County Pioneer Facebook page.

In addition, the events will be recorded and available for viewing on the Tillamook County Pioneer’s YouTube Channel
The organizers note that this year there will be no public address system nor accommodations for the public, and ask that supporters participate from home. Make plans to visit the cemeteries prior to Memorial Day.
In addition to hosting the Live event, the Facebook page will serve as an archive for photos and videos from previous years as well as the recording of this year’s events. While the hope is that next year the events will continue as it has in the past, but we are please to be able to provide this opportunity to again honor our veterans has we have in years past.
