Neah-Kah-Nie Middle School “Citizens of the Year” 2022

There are a myriad of year-end graduations, presentations and award ceremonies.  One such monumental announcement at Neah-Kah-Nie Middle School is recognition as “citizen of the year.”  Each month faculty select two “citizens of the month” for each grade; then, at the end of the year, two individuals from each class receive a special award.  The names of the Citizens of the Year are inscribed on a plaque at the school.

According to Principal Lori Dilbeck, these are the qualities we look for in our citizens of the year:

  • Honest – tell the truth

  • Moral courage – stand-up for what you consider to be wrong and defend those who cannot defend themselves

  • Responsible -be accountable for yourself and your actions

  • Respectful – treat others how you want to be treated

  • Kind – show caring and empathy toward others

  • Involved – participate in school and/or community activities and

Let us all strive to be Citizens of the Year every day, and congratulations to these students:
