NETARTS OCEANSIDE FIRE DISTRICT: 4TH OF JULY MIRACLE – LOST FOUR-YEAR FOUND SAFE WITH HUGE TEAM EFFORT, RESPONSE

The above alert went out to Tillamook County residents on the evening of July 4, 2026. A family’s worst nightmare become a holiday celebration for all when Tillamook County first responders, and volunteers combed the area to reunite the child with her family.
A 4 year old girl became separated from her family at Cape Lookout State Park yesterday evening July 4, 2026.
There was an INCREDIBLE response by State Park Rangers, Netarts Oceanside Fire SAR (Search and Rescue) and Drone teams, Tillamook Sheriff’s, Tillamook County Search and Rescue Team, US Coast Guard Tillamook Bay with ocean and ground resources, US Coast Guard Astoria with helicopter resources, Tillamook Ambulance with fantastic paramedic team and EVER AWESOME Tillamook 911 Center supporting ALL the agencies.
The child was located 5 miles north on the Netarts Bay Spit. Child was hypothermic and dehydrated. Child was transported to Adventist Health Tillamook in good condition.

Responding agencies included: Oregon State Parks,  Netarts-Oceanside Fire District, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard Station Tillamook Bay, U.S. Coast Guard Northwest, Tillamook County Emergency Communications District – Tillamook 911, Tillamook County Search & Rescue,U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Astoria
