OBITUARY: Joyce Anne Heusser – September 28, 1936 – April 10, 2026

Posted on April 15, 2026 by Editor

Joyce Anne Heusser was born on September 28, 1936 to Clyde and Violet Rogers Goble in Bison, South Dakota, and passed away on April 10, 2026 in Wheeler, Oregon following a short illness. When Joyce was young, her family moved west, eventually landing in Tillamook. There she met and married her high school sweetheart, Cal. They were married for 64 years. Together they owned and operated Heusser’s Grocery in downtown Tillamook.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Cindy Perkins (Kent), her son Brian Heusser (Gail Ballantyne), her daughter in law Kristi Heusser, her brother David Goble (Kathy), her step father David Russell, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren & many nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Heusser, her son Tim Heusser and her parents, Clyde Goble and Violet Russell.

Joyce loved to travel and went to Europe, Japan, Washington D.C., and toured the southwest. Her greatest joy was going to Hawaii with Cal and also having her family and friends join them on many of their trips to Molokai.

A private family gathering is being planned.

Please consider making a donation to the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum in memory of Joyce.
