She and her husband, Willard moved to Rockaway in 1951 and lived there until 1970, then they moved to Tillamook. After Willard died in 1988, she remarried Clifford Prowell in 1991 and moved to Cloverdale, Oregon.

Virginia graduated from Gresham High School in 1943. She worked as a secretary for the Governor of Oregon’s son. Virginia was mostly a mother, but did work at the Rinehart Clinic for several years as a physical therapist. When she moved to Tillamook, she owned and operated a store called Kitchen Ideas.

Virginia traveled to Germany to visit her brother and traveled with the Friendship Force to Australia, New Zealand and Brazil.

She enjoyed spending her time gardening, writing poems, bird tending and spoiling the cat. Virginia was active in the PTA, Rockaway City Council, Toastmistress and Beta Sigma Phi.
