You’ll see us in the area!

We’re working on upgrading U.S. 101 through downtown Garibaldi. These upgrades will help make the area safer and more accessible for all, whether you drive, ride, walk or roll.

When construction starts next week, you can expect:

  • Crews working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Occasional nighttime work as needed.
  • Sidewalk closures with pedestrian detours as needed.
  • Lane closures with flaggers helping direct traffic as needed.
  • Noise and delays.
  • Businesses in the project area to remain open.

We estimate finishing this project in Fall 2025.

  • Repaving the road and applying new striping.
  • Creating new bus stop pull out areas.
  • Improving water drainage.
  • Building new sidewalks between 1st Street and 11th Street along U.S. 101.
  • Constructing new ADA curb ramps at the rail crossings on 3rd Street and 7th Street.
  • Enhancing street signs to make it easier to know where you’re going through downtown.

U.S. 101 Lincoln City Curb Ramps

Project area mapStarting next week, you’ll see our crews in the area while we prepare for construction.

We want to improve accessibility for all, whether you drive, ride, walk or roll. One of the ways we’re doing that in Lincoln City is by rebuilding or installing ADA curb ramps.

Why are ADA curb ramps important?

ADA curb ramps make it easier for people to move between the sidewalk and road. This can be helpful for those who have trouble stepping up and down high curbs.

It’s also helpful for people using wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, hand carts and bicycles. These ramps make it easier for everyone to get around, whether they have a disability or not.

Otter Crest Loop/U.S. 101 Frontage Road Bridge Preservation

Project area mapWe’ve started work on the historic Rocky Creek Bridge, or Ben Jones Bridge. It was built in 1927 along the coast just off U.S. 101.

The metal can get damaged from exposure to the salt water and harsh winds. The work we’re doing is part of routine maintenance to preserve the bridge and keep it in service for years to come.

South Fork Beaver Creek Bridge Replacement

Project area mapWe’ve started work on the South Fork Beaver Creek Bridge. This is a timber bridge and part of a U.S. 101 bypass between the area of Bayshore and Seal Rock. The bridge was built in 1961, is narrow and in poor condition.

We’re partnering with Lincoln County to replace the bridge. This will allow vehicles to continue to safely use this U.S. 101 bypass route for years to come.

work zone iconPay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.

Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.

Slow-down for workers
