Before 4 pm this afternoon, April 20th the Rockaway Beach Fire Department was called to Manhattan beach for a brush fire. Photos by Don Best show the cleanup phase after heavy black smoke burning beach grass and pine. A witness said he heard a loud pop or bang that made his dogs bark.
