Last call for Memorial Bricks at New Aquatics Center Order by May 1st – LIMITED SUPPLY
The North County Recreation District (NCRD) is preparing to open the new Aquatics Center this summer, and we want to have a special celebration to celebrate the multiple generations that have learned to swim in the “legacy” pool. One of the oldest public pools still in operation, NCRD’s nearly 100 year old pool (95 years old to be exact) has hosted at least four generations of swimmers through the years.
Did you, your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents learn to swim at the Nehalem Pool? We are inviting EVERYONE that learned to swim at the Nehalem Pool to join us for FREE special Second Saturday Swims: April 12th, May 10th, and June 14th from 1 to 3 pm. There are LIMITED SPACES, please RSVP to pool@ncrdnehalem.org.
“Many community members have fond memories of their time spent swimming here,” said Executive Director Barbara McCann. “These special swims will give everyone an opportunity for a last dip! On behalf of NCRD I would like to thank the community for all the support over so many years. Your generosity has made the dream of replacing the old pool and continuing the legacy of teaching all our children how to swim into the future a reality!”
The new aquatics center is nearly funded through grants and local donations, though NCRD still needs about $1 million, and has a loan to fill any fundraising gaps. Costs for the redevelopment/decommissioning process of the Legacy pool space are not included in that budget, and a separate fundraising campaign is underway.

Bricks will be installed in June, 2025. There are limited spaces left so place your order as soon as possible.
BRICK DETAILS: $200.00 per brick/tile – The bricks are 4”x 8”x 1/2” and are engraved using state of the art laser technology. Every brick engraving is guaranteed for life!
