After a year of work sessions and gathering community input, the
Oceanside Neighborhood Association’s Zoning and Plan Review Committee (“ZAPR”) is nearing completion of its proposed revisions to Oceanside’s residential zoning rules. The next two committee meetings are scheduled this week on
Monday, March 24, 2025, at 5 – 6:30 p.m. and
Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 6:30. Both committee meetings will take place at the Oceanside Community Hall and will also be available for remote viewing by Zoom. The
March 24 event is primarily a committee work session with limited time available for public comment. The
March 27 gathering is a Special Meeting dedicated to entertaining comments and questions from community members. Once completed, ZAPR will submit its proposals for consideration and vote by the entire ONA membership. That vote has yet to be scheduled.
Here is the ONA Meeting Notice and Zoom Link for the March 24 meeting, which also includes a helpful history of the effort and links to resource documents.
Given the complexity of the issues and the potential for confusion about the proposals, the ONA leadership is urging Oceansiders to submit written questions and concerns for use in compiling a Frequently Asked Questions list to be distributed well before the membership votes on them. Tillamook PUD Awards Grant for Oceanside Emergency
Assembly and Assistance Center

Every year, the
Tillamook Peoples’ Utility District (“TPUD”) distributes
Community Support Grants to organizations around the county. When TPUD announced the grants for 2025, they included
$3500 sought by the
Oceanside Protection Society community foundation to help equip OVERT’s Emergency Assembly and Assistance facility at the Oceanside Chapel. OVERT will use the funds to purchase two portable 2400-watt power banks with solar charging panels. Together with a new propane-powered generator (recently funded by community donations) and propane storage tanks, these power banks will complete OVERT’s initiative to make power available at the Chapel for residents and stranded visitors in the event of a disaster event that disrupts the PUD’s regular service.
