EDITOR’S NOTE: Pioneer readers haven’t seen Rockaway Beach correspondent Robin Swain’s byline for months … what’s going on with Robin?
Here’s an update about her health journey …
By Robin Swain
I’m going through tough times, jumping through medical hoops for a liver transplant (and I made the list – now we wait for a donor.) It’s been a lot and it continues to be overwhelming. But through the prayers and positive thoughts of my hometown Rockaway Beach I’m making it through. That’s who we are. A couple of the CNAs here at OHSU were amazed that two of my friends had been friends since high school, dang near 50 years. Living in the city doesn’t give you power. That little small town where even your worst enemy will pray for you in dire times that’s where the power is. That’s true community.
With that said I’d like to thank my family, friends and my community Rockaway Beach for all their prayers and positive thoughts that are lifting me up through these difficult times.
With love.
