Tillamook County Emergency Press Conference: Pike Road Fire Update 9/9/20

Posted on September 9, 2020 by Editor

The Pike Rd. fire is about 150 acres, uncontained, moving east at this time. There are level one, two and three evacuations in the Bay City area currently. Level one means be aware and get ready; level two means be ready to go at a moment’s notice and level three means go now. There are 65 evacuees at the Tillamook County fairgrounds, 50 from Tillamook County and 15 from Lincoln County, where the fire emergency is severe. We should expect to see evacuees from Lincoln County flowing into Tillamook County overnight. We have activated the YMCA as a secondary evacuation site, should the fairgrounds reach capacity.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking people to call 911 for emergencies; please do not call 911 with questions. The 911 operators have been inundated with non-emergency calls. We will have another press conference Thursday, September 10 at 10 a.m. in commissioners’ meeting rooms A & B in the Tillamook County Courthouse for an update on the fire emergencies in Tillamook and Lincoln Counties. Call in information: Dial in: 971-254-3149 Conference ID: 736 023 979#
