TILLAMOOK COUNTY, OR – The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community about an ongoing phone and text messaging scam involving individuals impersonating Sheriff’s Deputies.
Residents have reported receiving calls and text messages claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office, stating that they have outstanding legal matters and must turn themselves in or face consequences. These messages are fraudulent. The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office does not contact individuals via text or phone to demand compliance with warrants or legal issues.
If you receive such a call or text, do not provide any personal information or comply with any demands. Instead, we ask that you hang up and report the incident to the Sheriff’s Office immediately. Please request verification of any official contact if there are concerns about the legitimacy of the call.
