TILLAMOOK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE: Vehicle Associated with 2025 Missing Persons Case Located in Jones Creek Area

Posted on August 17, 2026 by Editor

On August 14, 2026, loggers working in the Jones Creek area off Hwy 6 discovered a vehicle that appears to have driven off the road and careened down a steep hillside.
The vehicle was identified as being associated with a missing persons case reported out of Beaverton in September 2025.
Human skeletal remains were located with the vehicle. Based on the information currently available, investigators believe the remains may be those of the two adults reported missing in connection with the vehicle. However, the identities of the remains have not yet been officially confirmed, and investigators are awaiting the appropriate examination and identification process.
The condition and location of the vehicle are consistent with a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle sustained significant damage, and debris was scattered throughout the surrounding area before the vehicle came to stop against the trees.

The investigation remains ongoing. The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office is working with the appropriate agencies and forensic personnel to determine the identities of the deceased and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Out of respect for the families involved, no additional identifying information will be released until official identification has been completed and the families have been appropriately notified.
The Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the loggers who reported the vehicle and assisted in bringing this discovery to the attention of law enforcement.
