Posted on July 19, 2018April 3, 2020 by Editor

PACIFIC CITY, OR – On July 17, 2018, at approximately 4:58 pm Tillamook 911 was notified of a recreational accident on the beach, in the area of Cape Kiwanda.

The investigation revealed a 4 year old male had been playing in the surf zone of the beach in the area used by fishermen to launch and recover their Dory Boats, to the north of the Pelican Pub. While one of the fishermen was negotiating the recovery of his empty Dory Boat in the surf zone, the juvenile was struck by the boat and received non-life threatening injuries to one of his legs.

The juvenile was transported by ambulance to Tillamook Regional Medical Center, then by Life Flight helicopter to a Portland area hospital.

There is no additional information at this time.
