Well, a few areas of the north coast saw some light rain this morning as a weak trough came ashore. The parent low pressure area is spinning west of southern Vancouver Island and will rotate another area of moisture across the coast this evening and tonight. This one may actually give some measurable precipitation in the Tillamook area. So tonight, we can expect some clouds and a chance of spotty showers. The winds die off later tonight and so the patchy fog could return in the early morning hours, the low drops to near 53 tonight.
The trough continues to move east tomorrow and things slowly clear up leaving mostly sunny afternoon skies, winds becoming northwesterly 8-12 gusting to 18, the high near 70, then mostly clear skies tomorrow night, the winds ease, lows near 50.
It looks like a weak ridge will give us sunny skies Thursday with the winds becoming northwesterly 5-10, the high climbs to near 77, then we see partly cloudy skies Thursday night with light northeasterly winds, the low near 54, there is a slight chance of a spotty shower later that night also.
For Friday it looks like a low pressure area will develop 70 to 100 miles west of Oregon which would swing the upper level winds around from the south and would pull more moisture up over the area so there is a slight chance of showers Friday with surface winds still westerly 8-12, the high near 73, then partly cloudy skies likely Friday night, lows near 54.
With the low pressure area meandering off to the west without much in the way of steering currents, nailing down the specifics is a little harder to do, but, for now, it looks like we can expect partly sunny days with a slight chance of showers Saturday and Sunday, highs near 69, mostly cloudy nights, still with he slight chance of showers, lows near 54.
