A weak low pressure area moved inland to our north along the Oregon/Canada border and brought little in the way of rain. The satellite picture and smoke forecast show the area is covered in smoke again so we will see the gray skies once more as the Canadian smoke wrapped around the low and moved back over the region. This layer will be isolated in the upper atmosphere so hopefully our Air Quality will not be impacted. Look for partly cloudy skies tonight, some patchy fog possible late, after the winds die down, lows near 48.
After a foggy start for some, tomorrow looks mostly sunny and warmer with winds becoming more northwesterly 5-10, the afternoon high climbing to near 80. By tomorrow night we see a low pressure area dropping down off the coast, off to our west, from the Gulf of Alaska while another low pressure area that had been sitting off California finally races northeastward. This will change the upper level flow to more southwesterly and could push enough moisture northward to cause a slight chance of showers overnight so we see increasing clouds with northerly surface winds that die off later tonight, that slight chance of a shower, lows near 54.
Friday looks partly sunny with a slight chance of showers still, that diminishes later that morning, winds becoming southwesterly 5-10, highs near 74, mostly cloudy Friday night, light winds, lows near 54.
The models are in much better agreement for the weekend, showing that low pressure area parking off to the west and occasionally pushing an area of disturbed weather eastward across our area. First, for Saturday, partly sunny skies with highs near 73, then mostly cloudy that night, lows near 54.
Sunday, we see mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers starting in the afternoon, the high near 71, a better chance of showers Sunday night with one of those disturbances moving through, lows near 55.
We have a slight chance of showers Monday, still under mostly cloudy skies, highs near 69, lows near 53, then another disturbance increases the chance of showers again for Tuesday, highs near 68, lows near 52.
