We had a fair and mild weekend, though the area did see a little rain on Saturday, but it’s looking like we have some more RAIN on the way this week. So today we had a fair, dry, and mild day, then tonight we see some clouds moving in as the ridge of high pressure that gave us the nice day, will weaken and get pushed off to the east ahead of an approaching trough. The winds die off tonight, then some patchy fog is possible late, the overnight low near 56.
Tomorrow looks cloudy with a chance of mainly light showers developing in the afternoon as the winds become southwesterly 5-10, the high tomorrow near 65. The rain likely tomorrow night with the winds becoming southerly 10-15 gusting to 25, the low near 55.
It looks like another stronger system drops down through the area Wednesday so the rain continues into the afternoon, then we see showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon after a front moves through, the winds becoming southerly 10-15, but increasing to 18-24 with gusts to 30 in town, 40-45 down at the beaches, the high only near 57. More showers and possible thunderstorms Wednesday night, still breezy, the low near 54.
The shower and possible thunderstorm threat continues Thursday, the breezy winds start to ease some, the high again near 57, then back to rainy Thursday night, the low near 51.
With the upper level trough still influencing the weather Friday we see a chance of rain in the morning, with showers and that possible thunderstorm threat for the afternoon, under mostly cloudy skies, the high near 65, a slight chance of rain still Friday night, the low near 51.
Saturday and Sunday look partly sunny with a slight chance of some rain still, the highs near 67, then mostly cloudy but drier both nights, lows near 53.
For the fishermen, there is a Small Craft Advisory this evening, then a Gale Watch from tomorrow evening through Wednesday evening. Lastly, the rain will help with the firefighting efforts, but it doesn’t look like the end of the fire season just yet, especially with the pending thunderstorm threat.
