The names of all those honored and remembered are displayed in the Adventist Health Tillamook Hospital’s front lobby and will be recited at the Reading of the Names event on January 18th from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds, 4-H Dorm, 4603 Third Street, Tillamook and virtually @facebook.com/AHTillamook.

The generosity of gifts from friends of hospice — near and far — means that anyone needing and seeking this special care can have peace of mind knowing they can be served regardless of their ability to pay.

Honoring the life of Jan Lommen Colleknon

This year’s Light Up a Life ceremony supporting hospice services in Tillamook County honors the life of Jan Lommen Colleknon, who dedicated her life to her passion for dance and the arts, the love for her family and friends as well as the thousands of kids she mentored as a dance teacher and studio owner in Tillamook County.

Jan Lommen Colleknon, also known as “Little Miss Dynamite,” dedicated her life to her passion for dance and the arts, the love for her family and friends as well as the thousands of kids she mentored in her 40+ years of being a dance teacher and studio owner in Tillamook County.

As the last chapter of her life unfolded, the compassionate Hospice team helped Jan’s family to care for her in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Jan peacefully danced into heaven on January 5, 2011.

Today, the Colleknon family honors Jan’s memory by continuing the Tillamook School of Dance and by bringing families, friends, dancers and the community together on the first Sunday in June for the annual “Jan Colleknon Hospice Benefit Show.” As of 2022, this show has raised just over $39,000 for Hospice in memory of Jan.
