OREGON DEPT. OF FISH & WILDLIFE: Three Public Meetings to Discuss Oregon’s Commercial Dungeness Crab Fishery

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) will hold three public meetings to discuss the Oregon Commercial Dungeness Crab Fishery.

Meetings will include updates related to marine life entanglement and an opportunity to provide input on planned agenda items for the August 14, 2026 Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting in Salem:

  • Five-year risk reduction measures evaluation
  • Vessel monitoring and electronic logbooks
  • Experimental fishing gear permits

Meeting times and locations:

Thursday, May 7th – North Bend – 1:00 – 4:00 pm

North Bend Public Librarym 1800 Sherman Ave, North Bend, OR 97459

Tuesday, May 12th – Newport – 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Oregon Coast Community College, 400 SE College Way, Newport, OR 97366

Thursday, May 14th – Astoria – 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Astoria Public Library, 450 10th St, Astoria, OR 97103

All meetings include the option to join virtually by webinar or phone. Phone-only participants may request an electronic copy of the meeting presentation in advance by calling 541-961-6924.
